    "He told babuji that scope for Indian writers was limited as western authors had left nothing for them to explore. When my father challenged him, Sahay told him to cite something as great as Thias. Bapuji took a look at it and said that though there is nothing similar but something like this can surely be written. The rest is history," recalls his son Dhirendra Varma, on the eve of Bhagwati Chandra Varma’s 111st birth anniversary.
