Bach, Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados, and Manuel de Falla–wrote music for instruments other than guitar, such as lute, vihuela, cello, or piano. The music of J.S. Bach and Isaac Albéniz is some of the most popular, and in my opinion some of the most beautiful, in the guitar repertoire. However, because their music has only been popularized on guitar through arrangements, I’ve decided not to include them on my above shortlist of “Top 5 guitar composers”.
